A huge thank you to our valued partners and supporters for helping make the IPA World Conference 2026 possible. Your combined support and shared passion for play is helping create a vibrant and inspiring experience for all.
Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is developing the Talk With Children campaign after educators and specialists noticed a growing change over time in children’s communication, language and connection skills. They found themselves repeating the same messages to whānau about the importance of talking, playing and connecting with young children and recognised the need for a wider, community-led response.
Talk With Children is an evidence-based behaviour change campaign designed to encourage parents, caregivers, whānau and the wider Northland community to spend more intentional, talk-rich time with tamariki. Using real Northland children, authentic child-led commentary, speech therapist-approved messaging and playful illustration overlays, the campaign shares simple, positive prompts that make everyday conversation feel easy, joyful and achievable.
The campaign promotes more play, connection and meaningful interaction. Beyond supporting language development, Talk With Children aims to build a trusted movement that whānau feel proud to be part of, share and champion within their communities. While currently a Northland initiative, the campaign has the potential to expand nationally as it grows and evolves.
